Edl Pro
For too long, editors have been losing time, money, and sleep working in an industry clouded with multiple Edl formats. Too much time is spent working around Edl format incompatibilities, only to spend top dollar on a suite and discover that their Edl is incomplete.
Edl Pro enables you to easily move from one Edl format to another during off-line editing, giving you the flexibility to go off-line or on-line in any suite or facility. Editors with systems without floppy disk functionality can archive Edls and use them on any system, anywhere. Edl Pro will even format CMX and GVG disks.
Virtually every major manufacturer of video, multi-media, and editing systems--both linear and non-linear--have called upon Alba's Edl technology to further enhance their products. Among them are Adobe, Avid, Discreet Logic, Macromedia, Sony and Tektronix/GVG.
About Edl Pro
Edl Pro is surprisingly simple to use software that:
- Provides complete and unerring Edl translations among the popular CMX, Grass Valley, and Sony formats.
- Has full Browse/Print for all supported Edls, including the encoded Sony Edls.
- Allows for on-line assembly in ANY suite, ANYwhere—format constraints are no longer a consideration.
- Cleans up your system's "less than perfect" Edls for worry-free on-line assembly.
- Formats, reads and writes CMX and Grass Valley 3.5" RT11-a disks and includes serial port transfers for sending and receiving Edls to and from an editor.

Edl Pro for Macintosh
Edl Pro is compatible with System 7 and later. If translation requires the use of RT11a-disks (CMX or GVG), 3.5" disks are supported with Macintosh systems using Superdrive. Formatting, writing and reading MS-DOS disks is fully supported with the use of PC Exchange, DOS Mounter or similar application.
Edl Pro for Windows
Edl Pro for Windows is compatible with all MS-DOS machines running Microsoft Windows 3.0 and higher (including Windows 95). The reading of Macintosh disks is also fully supported.
All Edl Pro products are immediately available in Mac, Windows, NTSC & PAL.

Edl Pro for Audio
Automatic conforming of audio from video Edls is a fast growing, highly profitable application, and Alba is again leading the way. Edl Pro for Audio still has all of the same powerful features of the original Edl Pro, but is now enhanced with a multitude of audio editing features.
Edl Pro for Audio makes audio editing simple by:
- Globally deleting all video references from video Edls. A single click of the mouse leaves only the Edl audio portions for easy audio editing.
- Providing user-defined head/tail trims for batch digitizing.
- Providing user-defined trims for effect transition points, or changing multiple source effect transition edits into separate discrete edits.
- Converting mixed frame code mode to one mode (DF/NDF/PAL).
- Renumbering of all edits.
- Providing the optional capability of Edl cleaning during translation.
With Edl Pro for Audio, using these applications is as easy as the click of a button.
Edl Pro for Audio allows direct importation into Digidesign's PostConform.
It also works with Sonic Solutions and other Digital Audio Workstations.
